Amanda Stem, LCSW
Outpatient Therapist
Amanda is fervently passionate about reproductive health and working with folks in the throes of pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. Wherever you are, she is dedicated to meeting you there. Amanda strives to show up with a warm heart, genuine curiosity, and deep care for your experience.
Amanda draws from a trauma-informed/trauma-focused, reproductive justice perspective. Amanda uses a variety of therapeutic modalities, depending on your specific needs and desires. Amanda’s favorite modality to draw from is Internal Family Systems but also uses elements of ACT, DBT, Solutions-Focused Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Amanda specializes in parenting struggles that stem from family of origin and attachment wounds, depression, anxiety and other PMADs, birth trauma, sex and sexuality, division of labor issues, and religious trauma. Amanda believes in the intersection of systems and mental health and will use a non-judgemental bio/psycho/social/cultural framework in therapy with you.
Professionally, Amanda is a member of Pro-Choice Therapists, an Adjunct Instructor for App State’s Department of Social Work and also has a private practice. Out of the therapist chair, Amanda spends her days trying to keep up with her 4-year-old, attempts to read before falling asleep, and does her best to explore the outdoors when she can.
